Prices are yours to set. Illustrative, not a promise of income.
A loyalty program where a cafe's regulars stake into its own reward vault.
Problem: Paper stamp cards are easy to fake and say nothing about who the regulars are, and token rewards programs pay wallets that never walk in.
Solution: Members stake HONEY into the cafe's own vault on Berachain with no lockup. A daily till code proves visits, so perks go to people who show up, and the owner sees who to greet.
Why now: Berachain lets small apps run their own reward vaults, and phone wallets make staking a few dollars practical for a neighbourhood cafe.
Market: Independent cafes, bakeries and small shops with regulars, and the streets they sit on.
The ask: Pilot partners: five cafes in Lagos and one coffee roaster, plus Berachain ecosystem programs.
Funding is never guaranteed. Check each program's rules.
Many hackathons require code written at the event. See the Regatta Boardfor each race's rule.
Custom work from $1,700: your own perks and vault rules, a till tablet app, naira payments, or a multi branch deployment. Scoped on a call.
Independent cafes lose regulars to chains with loyalty apps, and paper stamp cards get lost. Regulars often care about their local spot but have no way to back it beyond buying coffee.
Both halves exist separately: Berachain Proof of Liquidity reward vaults (and vault managers such as Infrared) let people stake and receive variable emissions, and off chain loyalty apps give cafes stamp cards and points. Research did not find merchant loyalty tied to a cafe's own PoL reward vault. What is new is that pairing for a single local business, with perks funded by the cafe and gated on real visits. Research verdict: medium novelty; the vault mechanics themselves are not new.
Member wallets and stake amounts (onchain), vault rewards and the cafe's incentive deposits (onchain), daily till QR scans and perk claims (offchain database), optional first names members choose to share for the digest.
Let people own a small, withdrawable stake in the places they love, and let those places thank the people who keep showing up.
Fill the comb Each visit fills a hexagon on the monthly card. The free cup unlocks when you show up.
Named at the counter The owner sees who is a member and who has not been in for a while, and says hello.
Withdraw any time No lockup and no fee, so joining feels safe for people on a tight budget.
Member wallet: Privy embedded wallet with email or phone login on Berachain, so members never see a seed phrase.
Cafe vault contract: An ERC-4626 style staking vault for HONEY with a per wallet cap, deployed per cafe. Withdraw is always open.
Proof of Liquidity: The vault can apply to become a PoL reward vault so validators may direct BGT emissions to it, and the cafe can add incentives to attract them. Whitelisting goes through Berachain governance and emissions vary; until then, rewards come only from the cafe's incentives.
Visit check: A daily rotating QR at the till, signed by the cafe's key. Scans are stored offchain and unlock that month's perk, one per wallet.
Counter agent: A small model tier (for example Claude Haiku or a similar tier via OpenRouter) writes the Saturday digest: lapsed members, perk costs, vault status in plain words.
Indexer and messages: An indexer such as Goldsky or a simple RPC poller tracks stakes; WhatsApp or email messages go only to members who opted in.
Berachain gas is usually a small fraction of a cent per stake or withdraw. The weekly digest on a small model tier is under 1 cent. The real cost is the perk: in the story, 104 free cups a month at N1,800 is about N187,000, a marketing cost the owner chooses, against 410 extra cups bought. Example month: under $5 in infrastructure plus the perks.
Members share their member number and the cafe's card on the counter recruits walk-ins. Other shop owners on the same street see the crowd and ask to join; a shared street card brings them in together.
Financial rules: A staking product with rewards may be regulated in some countries. Rewards are described as variable and possibly zero, there is no promised return, and owners should get local advice before launch.
Variable rewards: PoL emissions depend on validators and governance and can drop to zero. The perk is funded by the cafe and never depends on them.
Smart contract risk: Use an audited vault template, a per wallet cap and no admin power over member deposits.
Perk farming: Wallets can stake without visiting. Perks need a daily till scan and are capped at one per wallet per month.
Privacy: Members choose what name the cafe sees. No location tracking beyond the till scan.

Cafe Vault: A loyalty program where a cafe's regulars stake into its own reward vault. Using someone else's version means their rules, their brand and their revenue. Owning Cafe Vault means it is deployed under your wallet, carries your name, and every customer, partner and result builds your track record instead of theirs.
Cafe Vault arrives deployed with a guide. Running it is settings and sharing links, not code. If you get stuck, we help you ship it.
Start with ten people you already know. The first move below takes under an hour and tells you fast whether people care.
Each step is sized in minutes. Most owners spend an hour a week, and the app does the repetitive part.
Nothing is guaranteed. The playbook gives you a clear path and honest numbers, and you decide how far to take it.
Charge the people who get the most value from Cafe Vault: a monthly plan for groups or teams, plus setup fees for anyone who wants it done for them.
Illustrative stages, not a forecast. Results depend on you and the market; nothing here is guaranteed.
