Proof of Opinion
Put your name on a take onchain, mint a shareable badge, others co-sign.
Mentees attest that you changed their path, building a lineage tree of who you lifted up.
Try it live, freeDele spent years answering newbie Solidity questions in Discord. Mentor Trail lets each person he helped mint a short thank you attestation, and his profile now shows a living tree of 60 builders, 12 of whom shipped mainnet apps.
Thank you attestation flow, lineage tree visualizer, mentor profile, share cards.
Reshape it entirely: new features, your flows, your brand end to end, integrations you need. We scope it with you.
Mentorship graphs exist in hackathon form; mentee-attested multi-generation lineage is the less common angle.
MentorGraph/p2pmentor (Arkiv, Sub0 hackathon winner) stores mentoring sessions as graph edges, Intuition TrustGraph links mentor trust to skills, and POMP mints mentorship NFTs.
Checked with web searches in October 2026. A search is not proof that nothing similar exists, and the market moves fast, so we recheck before every build.
Fits as an open-source public good; existing OSS projects generally required.
Existing projects OK for Superchain growth.
The complete Mentor Trail app: mentees sign specific thank yous, a curator holds fakes for the mentor to decide, and every mentor grows a lineage tree two generations deep, with a paywall and receipts built in.
Every buyer gets the same finished app. Basic branding and copy changes come through a quick form.
Your admin side: revenue, paywall editor, users, rules and the agent log.
Referral and growth mechanics, switched on when you are ready to grow.
Nobody pays to be thanked. Mentors pay for Pro to see the branch above and an impact report; communities pay monthly to gate thank yous, sponsor gas and show sponsors their impact.
Gas per thank you is well under one cent on Base or Optimism and can be sponsored by the owner or a community.
Prices are yours to set. Illustrative, not a promise of income.
A living tree of everyone you helped, in their own signed words, two generations deep.
Problem: The people who teach newcomers in Discords, study groups and office hours shape careers, and almost none of it shows up anywhere. A self written bio is not proof.
Solution: Only the mentee can write a leaf: one specific sentence with shared history, attested onchain as a hash. A curator holds fakes for the mentor to decide, and the tree follows lineage to the people your mentees helped next.
Why now: Attestations on Base cost a fraction of a cent, embedded wallets remove seed phrases for beginners, and small models can read every note for specificity and bursts for almost nothing.
Market: Mentors in developer communities, bootcamps, DAOs and study groups, plus the communities and grant programs that need to show sponsors real impact.
The ask: Pilot communities: two developer Discords and one bootcamp, plus public goods grant funding for the open schema.
Funding is never guaranteed. Check each program's rules.
Many hackathons require code written at the event. See the Regatta Boardfor each race's rule.
Custom work from $1,000: your own proof types and curator rules, Discord or Telegram integrations, community branding, extra languages, or a sponsor reporting format. Scoped on a call.
The people who teach newcomers in Discords, study groups and office hours do work that shapes careers, and almost none of it shows up anywhere. Mentees want a way to say thank you that lasts, and mentors want proof of impact that is not a self-written bio.
Mentorship records onchain already exist: MentorGraph (p2pmentor on Arkiv, a Sub0 hackathon winner) stores mentoring sessions as graph edges, Intuition's TrustGraph links mentor trust to skills, and POMP mints mentorship NFTs. What is less common here is that only the mentee can create the record, that each thank you needs shared history and a specific story, and that the tree follows lineage across generations (who your mentees went on to help). Research verdict: rare, medium novelty; the attestation primitive itself is standard.
Mentee signed thank you attestations (from, to, generation, timestamp, hash of the note), an optional shared history link (a Discord thread, PR review or call), the mentor's acceptance, and optional outcome tags such as shipped to mainnet. Note text and links are stored offchain; only hashes and the edge go onchain.
Make the invisible work of teaching others visible and portable, so the people who lift others up can show it in their own words.
Signed by the person you helped No self-written claims. Every leaf is a mentee's own words, which makes it the most credible line on a profile.
The branch above When your mentee helps someone, you see the second generation grow. Most mentors have never seen that before.
Friday thank back A weekly prompt to name who unblocked you. It takes a minute and keeps the tree honest and alive.
Wallets: Privy embedded wallets for mentors and mentees, with social login so beginners need no seed phrase. Optional Basename or ENS on the profile.
Attestations: An EAS schema on Base or Optimism (MentorThanks: from, to, generation, noteHash, evidenceHash). On Solana, the Solana Attestation Service or a compressed NFT record. The mentor's one-time acceptance is its own attestation.
Curator agent: A small model (for example a Haiku class or Gemini Flash class model via OpenRouter) checks each draft for specificity, shared history and burst patterns. It never rejects alone: anything unsure goes to the mentor to confirm.
Sybil checks: Wallet age, rate limits per mentor, duplicate wording detection, and an optional community gate (a membership token or pass) before a thank you can be sent.
Indexer and tree: An indexer (EAS GraphQL or a Ponder service) builds the lineage graph; the profile renders it as an SVG tree with share cards.
Notifications: Email or Telegram for new thank yous, held batches and the Friday digest.
Per thank you: one EAS attestation on Base or Optimism usually costs well under one cent in gas, and can be sponsored by a paymaster. The curator check is a few hundred tokens on a small model, roughly $0.0005 or less. Example month for a community of 2,000 members sending 1,500 thank yous: under $10 gas, about $1 in model calls, $25 hosting and indexing, so roughly $35 to $40 a month.
Every thank you notifies a mentor who did not know they were being thanked, and most then thank their own mentors. Share cards with the tree travel on X and LinkedIn. Communities adopt it to show impact to sponsors and grant programs.
Fake gratitude: Friends or sock puppets can farm thank yous. Shared history, wallet age, burst detection and mentor confirmation reduce it; the tree should never be treated as a hiring score on its own.
Privacy of mentees: A public tree reveals who learned from whom. Mentees choose public, names only or private, and can hide their leaf later. Note text is never written onchain.
Popularity bias: Loud mentors may collect more leaves than quiet ones. Show stories, not just counts, and avoid ranking people by size alone.
Permanence: Onchain records are hard to remove. Keep only hashes onchain so the offchain note can be deleted, and support revocation of an attestation.
Curator mistakes: The agent can hold a real thank you. It may only hold, never reject, and the mentor decides.

Mentors do years of invisible work that never shows on a resume. Own Mentor Trail and you run the place where that work becomes a living, verifiable lineage, from your wallet and brand. The mentors, the communities and the record of who lifted whom are yours.
Make the mentee start it, not the mentor. Your job is a gentle prompt and a beautiful card, not an ask for praise.
Mentors rarely pay; programs do. Bootcamps and ecosystems need proof of impact for their funders, and this is that proof.
You do not need to. Mentor Trail arrives working, deployed from your own wallet with a written guide for every step. You will click, paste and fill in names. If you ever want a change you cannot make, the custom option or a freelancer can handle it, but the first launch needs no code.
Yes. The contract is deployed from your wallet on Base, the code sits in your own git repo, and the name and brand are yours. DEPLOYR does not hold your keys or take a cut of what Mentor Trail earns. If you stop paying anyone tomorrow, the app keeps running on your wallet.
That is the most likely early outcome, and it is fixable. The paths below start with you as the first user, then ten real mentors, community leads and teachers you can name today. If ten people you message do not care after you have shown it to them, you have learned something useful in a week instead of a year.
Free mentor profiles, paid community plans for bootcamps, DAOs and ecosystems that want to show their mentorship impact. This ladder is a target, not a promise.
Illustrative stages, not a forecast. Results depend on you and the market; nothing here is guaranteed.
