WHY THIS ROUTE

Public good experiments that bring non-crypto people onchain in person are exactly what retro and community funding rounds like to see.

ARRIVED LOOKS LIKE

NEXT MOVE · WITHIN THE HOUR

1. Pick rounds that fund community experiments

40 min

Check Optimism Retro Funding, a Gitcoin community round and a chain community or consumer grant. Note whether impact must be measured already.

FIRST MESSAGE · EMAIL · TO A PROGRAM'S GRANTS INBOX

Hi team, before I apply: Kindness Relay is live with batons that move only through in-person kind acts, and many holders are first-time wallet users. Would a community experiment like this fit your current round? Thank you.

2. Export your relay stats

30 min

Passes, distinct holders, countries, first-time wallets. These are the numbers funders ask for.

3. Collect three holder notes

15 min

Ask holders whether you can quote their pass note.

FIRST MESSAGE · DM · TO A RECENT BATON HOLDER

Hi Musa, your note on the relay about helping the shopkeeper carry boxes was lovely. I am applying for community funding to grow this. May I quote it, first name only?

4. Submit with honest scope

120 min

Explain what is live, numbers, and your plan. Never promise funding or rewards to holders.
