WHY THIS ROUTE

Hackathons are where credit is most often lost: mentors, volunteers and teammates vanish after demo day. A credits roll is a natural fit for both entering and serving events.

ARRIVED LOOKS LIKE

One hackathon entered with an event-built feature, plus one event that issues its roll with you.

NEXT MOVE · WITHIN THE HOUR

1. Pick an event on the Regatta Board

25 min

Open /hackathons, look for public goods, identity or attestation tracks, and read each event's rule on existing code.

FIRST MESSAGE · HACKATHON DISCORD · TO THE ORGANISERS' HELP CHANNEL

Hi organisers, I have a live app, Credit Roll. This weekend I plan to build a new feature that drafts a credits roll from GitHub commits, all written during the event. Is that within the rules on existing code?

2. Choose a 48-hour feature

20 min

Ideas: auto-drafting a roll from GitHub commits, a credits widget for project sites, or contributor graphs across rolls.

3. Offer the organisers a free credits roll

10 min

Even if you do not win, credits for every mentor and volunteer make you known to the organisers.

FIRST MESSAGE · EVENT DISCORD DM · TO THE EVENT'S LEAD ORGANISER

Hi Leila, I am competing this weekend and I also run Credit Roll. I would love to issue free signed credits to every mentor, judge and volunteer after the event, branded with your logo. No catch, just want them remembered. Interested?
